Perplexity Pro with crypto: what you get, and how to settle it in Bitcoin

Perplexity is what many people now use instead of a search engine. You ask a question, it reads the web, and it answers with numbered sources you can check. The free version is useful. Pro is where it becomes a daily tool, because it lifts the limits on the better models and the longer research runs.

Pro or Max?

Perplexity Pro gives you many more Pro searches a day, a choice of top models from several labs, extended Deep Research, larger file and image uploads, and deeper sourcing. For anyone who looks things up for work, writes reports or reads papers, this is the plan.

Perplexity Max adds the highest limits and early access to new features. It costs ten times as much. Unless you're running long research jobs all day, Pro covers you.

Pro costs £20 a month in the UK, C$25 in Canada, A$30 in Australia and €22 in the euro countries we serve.

What changes when you go from free to Pro

The free tier answers quick questions well. The difference shows when the question is harder.

• More Pro searches. A Pro search reads more sources and breaks your question into steps before it answers. Free accounts get a small daily allowance; Pro raises it a long way.
• Your choice of model. Pro lets you pick among leading models from several labs for each answer, instead of Perplexity's default.
• Deep Research. For a report-length question, Deep Research runs for several minutes, reads dozens of pages and writes a structured answer with sources. Pro extends how much of it you can use.
• Files and images. You can upload PDFs, spreadsheets and images and ask about them, with higher limits than free.

If you use Perplexity a few times a week, the free tier is probably enough. If it has replaced your search engine, Pro pays for itself in time saved.

What it costs in Bitcoin

Our price is Perplexity's, minus a discount for longer terms (15% for 3 months, 20% for 6, 30% for 12), plus our fee. For Pro's 12-month term we start from Perplexity's yearly price.

There's no single month of Pro, since our smallest order is $50. Accounts outside the US pay the local price, converted at the European Central Bank's daily rate, then into BTC at checkout.

How to pay for Perplexity Pro with Bitcoin

1. Open the Perplexity page and choose the country of your Perplexity account. We serve the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands.
2. Pick Pro or Max and a term, then check out. You don't need an account with us. An email for your order link is optional.
3. Choose Bitcoin and send the exact amount within 30 minutes to the bc1 address on your payment page. The last digits tell us which order it belongs to.
4. Wait for one confirmation. "Payment seen" appears when your transaction reaches the mempool, "Paid" when it's in a block.
5. Follow the activation steps on your order page. A person prepares the plan for your country, usually within a few hours, and you switch it on in your own account.

Max yearly works differently

Perplexity sells Max for a year only on its own website. After you pay us, sign in at perplexity.ai on your own account, choose Max yearly, and paste the payment page's address into your order page. We pay it at Perplexity's price, usually within a few hours. You never share your password. The 24-hour clock starts when we have a link that works.

Before you pay

• Cancel any Perplexity plan you're paying for. A subscription started in the phone app is stopped through Apple or Google.
• Check your account's country. The plan has to match it.
• Watch for free offers. Perplexity regularly runs free Pro periods through partners such as phone carriers and banks. If one applies to you, use it first.

Paying for search in sats directly: Kagi

If what you want is a better search engine and you'd rather pay a vendor that takes Bitcoin itself, look at Kagi. Questions about Perplexity and crypto

Does Perplexity accept Bitcoin or other crypto?

No. Perplexity bills by card and through the App Store and Google Play. Paying us in bitcoin lets you avoid the card, and the plan still ends up on your own account.

Is it the real Perplexity Pro?

Yes. It's Perplexity's own plan, switched on in your own account. We're an independent store and not affiliated with Perplexity.

What happens at the end of the term?

The account falls back to free. Nothing renews on our side. You can buy another term here or subscribe with Perplexity directly.

How long does it take to get Pro?

Your payment needs one Bitcoin confirmation, usually 10 to 30 minutes. A person then prepares the plan, usually within a few hours. The activation itself takes a few minutes on your side.
